Eligibility Requirements

 

Age requirements

  • At least 14 years old to receive Glider and Balloon Pilot Licence
  • At least 16 years old to receive PPL
  • At least 17 years old to receive CPL
  • At least 21 years old to receive ATPL.

 

Education

The candidate must have completed at least year 12 to apply for an airline pilot. Comprehensive knowledge in high school physics and mathematics would be added advantage.

 

Personal qualities

  • English proficiency should be equivalent to Level 4 aviation English.

Medical evaluation

Should pass a physical examination by a designated aviation medical examiner. Based on you medical certificate, your flight operations are limited depending upon physical disabilities, if any.

Security clearance

Airlines perform 10-year background checks, driving record checks, random drug tests and financial statement forms as part of their recruitment process.
